This took so long it jammed up the application and nearly stopped my machine. No idea why! So, I put a bit of a blur on it to finish it off.

Sky Project: Completed

I am done with skies. Oh, I may add a sky or two here and there because I like skies and I still sometimes see skies worthy of recording. No, I did not reach 365. It did not take 365 skies for me to exhaust my interest in the topic. I learned a few things and had a good time and for nearly a year made something creative every day. Well, nearly every day.

I keep making a video of the experience in my head - writing the script, recording, selecting the best skies. Might actually get done. Might not. If it does get done, you'll see it here first.

Sky 341 - back yard

Everyone likes it. Sort of like the back of my head. Everyone likes that, too.

This is a more tangential sky - sky by inference. Still mourning the loss of my camera. My poor iPhone is making the best of things. 

Sky 335 - artificial fog

The fog algorithm doesn't make realistic fog. I had to add a cloud plane. Looks more like swamp gas than fog.

Sky 321 - lined

Sky 311 - pink

I started this sky series as a lark. Like, it might go somewhere, it might not. And it's been really interesting and I can't believe I'm on sky 311.

This is yesterday's sky with pink instead of aqua. Thinking I might make a bunch of artificially colored skies to see what happens when I change the various atmospherics.

Sky 310 - aqua aqua

This was going to be "greening of the desert" and then I made the haze aqua. Somewhere beyond the horizon there's a tourquoise ocean.

Sky 309 - desert sunset (with snow)

The blurring is supposed to make it look like oil paints. Not sure if it does or not. Yet I like it.

Sky 295 - washed

It's spring; not just spring in the air. Those might be yellow shrimp in a green sea or they might be clumps of crocus in new spring grass.

Thanks to Vectips for the free watercolor brushes which are washier than the Adobe Illustrator stock watercolor brushes.

This is winter at 70 degrees in Richmond VA. We do this at least one day each winter. This winter we've done it for more than 10 days. Not sure how many exactly. You can look it up, I'm sure.

I've decided that the Bryce "camera" is a low contrast, high brightness machine. Try rendering a scene and then look at the levels in Photoshop. The levels are usually skewed and they're difficult to "correct." Never push the "Auto Levels" button!

I have a vague recollection of reading about a way to adjust the camera before you render. Not sure it's worth it and they may have corrected that in the latest version.
